      Thanks for that link. Fascinating reading! — Though I don’t think that cosmic rays compare with what we’re doing to Spaceship Earth; they’re on a cycle, we’re on an exponential rise.

    “Just deserts for mankind” suggests that everyone gets what’s coming to him/her, regardless of whether one is one of the innocents or one of the assholes — hardly “just,” but the definition of reality to a greater or lesser extent.

    Just desserts indeed – because at a certain level, we owe a collective debt and deserve what is coming. But I also believe at a certain level, we all receive rewards – just desserts – based on our individual thoughts, words and actions.

    That’s the beauty of a haiku – when we look at the theme rather than the semantics, it opens to several interpretations.
