To Chris Huhne
Subject Don’t rip up the rules on climate
Great Britain is directly responsible for the mess our planet is in because we instigated the industrial revolution. It is our duty to take the lead in correcting the problem. Those who come after will not accept any excuses.
The IEA has announced that we have a vanishingly small window in which to make an effective reduction to global pollution and minimise the risk of catastrophic climate change. I personally believe that it may already be too late; but that is no reason to give up.
Please make sure that, at the very least, you commit the UK to tackling dangerous climate change by signing up to climate rules in the Kyoto Protocol again at the talks in Durban.
Thank you for listening.
It took me just a few minutes to email Chris Huhne, the UK Secretary of State for Energy and Climate, urging him to sign up to international climate rules to help stop dangerous climate change. If you’re in the UK, I urge you to do likewise; it is, quite simply, our responsibility.
